Newsletter No 1 - November 2008

Since I created Business Advocates just a few weeks ago, I have been swamped with messages and telephone calls from people who either wish to become an advocate or have their products or services advocated. I've also been asked to explain more about how the system will work, and what the advantages are once it is introduced.

You can find out more about that HERE ....

Secondly, please do not ask us to advocate products or services at this stage. Until we have the software, legal agreements etc in place, there is not a lot we can do. I will make sure you are informed when we are ready. In due course we will need Advocates, Introducers, Sponsors, Advertisers, Clients as well as contributors to our newsletters, web site content etc. All will also be able to participate in a new Organic Marketing System (OMS) that one of our clients is working on.

In the past, I have spent months and often years putting a project together before launching it. This time the idea of Business Advocates was to provide me with an umbrella business for the half dozen businesses that I represent. Before I could blink, others saw the opportunity and started pushing me to do something. As a result, we already have over 1,500 people signed up and more joining each day. Please help me keep the membership growing for the moment.

Now I need your help. I'm looking for a great web/software developer who would be willing to develop the web site and back end software to get the project going, on an equity share basis. Alternatively, if there is anyone out there who is interested in investing and being really involved with this project, who sees the huge opportunity and has funds available, then I'd love to speak with you. I've not done the figures as yet, but we are not talking huge amounts. If you know of anyone who might be interested, a referral resulting in a positive outcome will attract a small equity stake.

Finally, I want to tell you about a couple of things happening that I want you to consider and to recommend to others.

No 1 - DIcor Presentation.

DIcor stands for Destination and Imagination Corporate. The original programme was for kids and over 20 million have participated in North America so far and they continue to join after school clubs to participate. The programme has helped to lift the USA to the very top of the innovation table.

After the success of the previous event we have organised another one to be held on the 20th January 2009 in London when Roger Garriock (ex senior executive with IBM) will return to the UK from Canada to spend the day demonstrating just how Innovation can really change a business. You’ll have a chance before the day to carry out a VIEW assessment of your problem solving style.  Are you an Explorer or a Developer?

You will be stunned at how bad we are at innovating. You will be able to challenge yourself to be innovative only to discover that the kids in the USA have achieved innovative answers to some of the problems, that are 10 or even 100 times better than we can come up with!

We want as many people to see this at this stage so the event is being heavily subsidised so that you can benefit from all that you learn, enjoy the fun and participate of the refreshments including an excellent sit down lunch.

For some, it will enable them to advocate the advantages of the full course to others, and for others the opportunity to be able to train as presenters and earn a very good return. This is an exciting project, which as a side shoot, will hopefully involve school children right across the UK!

No 2 - Clients for Life.

For many years now many of the more successful businesses have understood the importance of Relationship Marketing. To the small business owner these approaches have not really been tried. Very shortly a new franchise operation is starting called 'Clients for Life' (CFL). This franchise teaches and guides businesses through the maze of information relevant to Relationship marketing. I'm working with CFL to set up both Master Franchises (MF) and Franchises throughout the UK. I have personally taken on both a MF and a Franchise in Hampshire so that I really understand what is happening.

Better still CFL want to move this project forward so they have decimated the entry cost for the first few Master Franchise and Standard Franchise holders who join up. As you would expect there is also a great introductory fee available for all Business Advocates Members.

You can find out more about it HERE ...

So that is it for the moment.  I have lots more information to share with you but that will have to wait until next time as I do not want to flood you with too much.  Don’t forget, please invite your contacts to consider joining us here by just sending them the link http://www.business-advocates.com and they might benefit as well.

Finally, if there is anything we can do to assist you, then Just Let Me Know!

Regards

Jim
