How Would You Like to Have Thousands of People Advocating On Your Behalf?
For many small business owners doing these things is little more than just a dream ... perhaps spending a quick week or two with the family each year, more as a duty than as something they believe they should be doing. The laptop goes with them along with their mobile phone, and those calls requesting help, or passing them bad news! Does that happen to you?
But not surprising there are many who don’t have to worry about going away. They have successful businesses that are structured in a way that means the owner can take time off, a week or two, perhaps even a month or two ... and when they come back, the business will have grown again, and the bank balance even bigger. These successful businesses are out there - we all know the names of a few of them. These businesses have a continual stream of new business just waiting for them.
How do they do it? After all they are not much different from us - are they? They are human (aren’t they?), they have to sleep, wash, drive, look after the garden, walk the dog, pay their bills, employ people, find products! Just like us they get married, have children, grandchildren, perhaps even get divorced. They ARE ... just like us! Yet they are ‘successful’ and we ... well we aspire to success as well, but the evidence clearly shows that most do little more than dream!
In the UK 80% of all businesses fail in the first five years of trading. And of those that get past the five year mark 80% will be gone by year ten!
We need to move from where we are to this new ‘success’ status. How? By understanding how they have achieved what they have, and then taking the necessary action to do the same. We know that one of the biggest secrets that these ‘success’ people keep to themselves, is that when things are not going as they wish, they simply take ACTION and search out solutions that will help elevate them upwards.
One of the single biggest issues facing business today is finding enough customers!

Business Advocates is a refreshingly new concept that focussed on advocating what others do - to people and businesses that would benefit from the product and services they advocate. This is not just a simple recommendation, this is about each advocate understanding in detail what a product or service is all about and how it might benefits a recipient. It is about understanding what issues a business has, and what might be a sensible solution. It is also about trust!
This is not about recommending get rich quick schemes or other dubious ventures, but about connecting people to those products and services which we have used, experienced and believe have a good chance of benefiting those who wish to use them.
Unlike many people who act as a sort of business connector or matchmaker, a Business Advocate focuses on just a few products and services. Usually this will be around 5 to 10, although these advocated services are likely to change depending upon the needs of the market and of the businesses seeking help.
Each advocate spends a great deal of time in understanding what each product or service actually does. Usually they have tried them out for themselves, or have seen them used first hand. An Advocate will not take on a product or service just because they are paid a fee to do so. They only represent those things in which they really believe in!
Each Business Advocate introduces people to the products and services they advocate without cost to the recipient. If a successful outcome is reached, where the recipient purchases the advocated service, the supplier of that service rewards the advocate in a pre-agreed manner. This is similar to being an affiliate, but differs in that the advocate become involved much more with both the supplier and the potential client. They stand as a representative in the middle of both parties, almost like a impartial referee. The successful outcome for both parties results in further recommendations and business for all.
Small businesses today need every sort of help that they can get to market and sell what they do. They often need services and products that they are not aware of. Perhaps that is some basic or specialist training, or a piece of software that will make them more efficient or able to reduce their costs in some way. Perhaps it is the provision of a service to collect debts, or carry out telemarketing or telesales. Maybe it is about sourcing new products or simply identifying new markets. Whatever help can be offered - can make all the difference between being just in business and being hugely successful.

We will carry a limited number of articles about what you do, especially if one of your clients is ranting and raving about you!

In many cases we will also be able to get you special deals and opportunities to try things out and see if they benefit you. In most cases you will hear about them from us first.

Over the next few months we will be announcing a whole range of opportunities for both the suppliers of services and products and those that can benefit from using them. Maybe you have a service you would like us to advocate for you, or perhaps you are looking for something that will enable your business to stand out above the crowd. Many of you will have loads of business contacts and will also want to advocate some of the services and products that we recommend, or services or products that you recommend to that group. Real sound advocating does work, and it pays a reward as well. If we advocated ‘bad stuff’ our reputation will soon collapse and be worthless.
We are working with a number of businesses that have franchisable products and services. We will be looking for people to test these out and prove that they work before they are launched. There will be special deals for these people and a great entry into a new business of their own liking.
Most of the businesses that we advocate are always looking for new products, services to complement what they do, or perhaps they need help in developing a product further, or advancing a service. Those that operate franchises are always looking for new ways to make their offering even better.
